Xilinx Wins Product Awards for Zynq EPP, Kintex-7 FPGAs and PlanAhead Design Analysis Tool at EDN China Innovation Awards 2011

(NASDAQ: XLNX) today announced that Xilinx's Zynq™ Extensible Processing Platform (EPP) won "Leading Product Award" and both the 28nm Kintex™-7 FPGA and PlanAhead™ design analysis tool won "Best Product Award" at the 2011 EDN China Innovation Awards held on December 1st in Shanghai.The award recognizes Xilinx's 28nm leadership and investments in silicon and software innovation for accelerating product design.

The EDN China Innovation Awards are widely regarded as one of the industry's most coveted honors. The 2011 EDN China Innovation Product Awards were chosen by a committee comprised of technology managers, researchers and EDN China editors, who gave awards based on 142 nominations from 80 companies. The PlanAhead Design Analysis Tool, is an efficient design solution that helps achieve designer's  performance goals and is available as part of the Xilinx ISE®  Design Suite. The PlanAhead tool offers an RTL to bit stream design flow with new and improved user interface and project management capabilities. With the PlanAhead tool, users can view implementation and timing results to easily analyze critical logic, and make targeted decisions to improve design performance with floorplanning, constraint modification, and multiple implementation tool options.  

The Zynq-7000 family is Xilinx's first Extensible Processing Platform. This new class of product combines an industry-standard ARM® dual-core Cortex™-A9 MPCore™ processing system with Xilinx 28nm unified programmable logic architecture. This processor-centric architecture offers the flexibility and scalability of an FPGA combined with ASIC-like performance and power and the ease of use of an ASSP.
