Xinergy Corp. honored by Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources

KNOXVILLE, TN, Dec. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Xinergy Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Xinergy Ltd. (TSX:XRG and XRG.WT) ("Xinergy" or the "Company"), today announced that it has been honored by the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources ("KDFWR" or the "Department") for its environmental conservation stewardship efforts. The Company's Xinergy Straight Creek mining operations, located in Bell, Harlan and Leslie Counties, KY, were awarded with the "2011 Southeast Region Kentucky Business Conservation Partner of the Year" award for assisting the wildlife restoration efforts of quail and elk on the Boone Forestlands Wildlife Management Area by helping with structured tree and shrub planting efforts conducted by the KDFWR, as well as converting sediment structures to wetland habitats during the reclamation process on all active mines. In addition, the Company received the "Wildlife Steward" award for assisting the Department in location and construction of the holding facility where elk are being kept prior to transfer to other states where restocking programs are ongoing.
