The competition will be hosted on September 10, 2019 in St. Louis, Missouriduring #XYPNLIVE, the industry's only financial planning conference exclusively for financial advisors serving Gen X and Gen Y clients.
Created in 2016, the annual FinTech Competition gives startup advisor technology firms building solutions to support the delivery of financial planning to next generation clients a venue to showcase their solutions, in front of an engaging audience of tech-savvy financial advisors serving GenX and Gen Y clients who have the potential to become their first adopters.
Six finalists will be chosen from the pool of applicants, and will have the opportunity to introduce and promote their offerings during #XYPNLIVE in front of a full audience and a panel of expert judges, including technology guru Bill Winterberg of FPPad, and Michael Kitces, co-founder of XYPN and publisher of the widely read Nerd's Eye View blog. Interested companies can apply here, and must meet the following criteria:
Solution: Technology must support financial advisors delivering financial planning services to Gen X and/or Gen Y clients
Startup: To enter, tech company applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
Launched in the last 12 months
Have less than $1 million in revenue
Be an existing company with an entirely new solution that is substantially different from the company's existing offerings and meets one of the above requirements

The winner of last year's FinTech Competition, which received 23 applications, was Mineral Interactive ("Mineral"), a digital marketing and technology firm which has since been acquired by Carson Group. Mineral was recognized for its next generation client digital marketing and onboarding tool "Approach."
