Yamie Chess® Planning Educational Animated Math and Science Series Based on Classic Chess
LAS VEGAS, June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Yamie Chess: The Adventures of Tigermore and the Mind Angels®, a K-8 math education brand that is made in America, and one of only four children's productions to win selection to the Utah Arts Festival on June 20-23 sponsored by U.S. banking giant, Wells Fargo, American Express, Coca-Cola and Chrysler, is planning a series of educational animations using the Yamie Chess® cartoon characters, where each episode teaches K-8 school children a math or physics concept for STEM learning based on algebra, geometry, data analysis, measurement and number skills.

In June, Yamie Chess® won selection to Nationwide Insurance's Des Moines Arts Festival in Iowa on June 28-30. Awarded an official selection to Johns Hopkins University, and picked by the University of Hawaii to play at the annual children's outreach summer camp as part of the Kids First! Film Festival, Yamie Chess® succeeds by inheriting all the proven learning benefits of classic chess, and by providing children with an inspiring and fun cartoon framework to explore the mathematical basis of traditional chess for better learning outcomes in the K-8 classroom.
Yamie Chess®'s first animated series will comprise twenty-six, eleven minute episodes, each one giving elementary and middle school children a useful grounding in mathematics and serving as an introduction to physics and chemistry concepts. The animated series will follow the worldwide debut of the Yamie Chess® School Assistant series for math learning at next year's American International Toy Fair in New York in February 2014.
Yamie Chess®'s debut animation, King Tigermore In Strawberry Fields, designed to showcase the company's library of chess characters, who each represent the classic chess white and black pieces, won the Canada International Film Festival's Royal Reel Award in Animation, the Honolulu International Film Festival's Aloha Accolade Award in Animation and won selection to the prestigious 22nd Arizona International Film Festival which is sponsored by the University of Arizona and a grant recipient of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The forthcoming Yamie Chess® math learning aid, tells the story of an eight-year-old American boy genius, Kimi, who travels to the Mind Kingdom, a secret galaxy ruled by chess, that can only be reached by falling asleep in a hospital operation, where math problem solving that supports the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NTCM)'s Curriculum Focal Points, is taught to children through a hand-holding and supportive fantasy chess universe, designed to build young children's intellectual self esteem for math careers ahead.
