The building plan, conceptual, has space for:
4 classrooms to teach students and train teachers
4 offices to grow the impact of YEScarolina
2 libraries for learning and self-study
150-seat auditorium for presentations and competitions
1 conference room
1 executive board room
Since 2004 when Jimmy Bailey founded YEScarolina, they have trained over 825 South Carolina public and private school teachers to teach entrepreneurship in school classrooms across the state, thus exposing over 16,000 students to entrepreneurship. The future of our great nation depends upon entrepreneurs. YEScarolina is dedicated to ensuring that every Lowcountry student is exposed to entrepreneurship.
Last year one of YEScarolina's students made it to the final round and placed 2nd in the NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) National Business Plan Competition in Silicon Valley. This experience opened doors beyond his wildest dreams including the door to the White House and the opportunity to meet The President of the United States.
Without YEScarolina, most of these kids would never encounter entrepreneurship. The next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and idea makers would go unborn. Many students in schools feel that if they are not good at English and math they are not good students. YEScarolina helps students define what they are good at, then concentrates on that to teach them how to create a plan to make money doing what they are interested in. The YEScarolina Entrepreneurship Center will provide a gathering place for students to meet with mentors and teachers and become the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
