Yongye International Announces Opening of New Production Facility

BEIJING, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- Yongye International, Inc. (Nasdaq: YONG) ("Yongye" or the "Company"), a leading manufacturer, developer and distributor of "Shengmingsu" brand plant and animal nutrient products in China, today announced the opening a new production facility in Wuchuan County, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia.

The Company's new facility is capable of producing 20,000 tons per annum of Shengmingsu plant nutrient product and 10,000 tons per annum of Shengmingsu animal nutrient product, for a total production capacity of 30,000 tons per annum. The capacity from the new facility is in addition to the Company's prior capacity of 15,000 tons per annum for plant nutrient product and 1,000 tons per annum for animal nutrient product, bringing the Company's total capacity to 46,000 tons per annum. The Company expects the new facility to become fully operational in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The grand opening ceremony for the new production facility was held on August 28, 2010, and had over 1,000 attendees, including from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Inner Mongolia and Wuchan County governments, Yongye's regional distributors and business partners, and members of the financial and media communities. Mr. Zishen Wu, Chief Executive Officer, was joined for the ribbon cutting ceremony by Mr. Robert McCooey, Senior Vice President at NASDAQ; Mr. Zhao Zekun, Chief Editor of CCTV's Agriculture Channel; Mr. Tao Yuanjie, President of Farmer's Daily; Mr. Qu Zhenyuan, President of China Agricultural University; and other dignitaries and guests.
