Yoplait Go-GURT Introduces New SOUR PATCH KIDS Flavored Yogurt
Go-GURT taps SOUR PATCH KIDS brand for its first co-branded product innovation
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Arriving on store shelves this month, Yoplait Go-GURT brings the sour and sweet flavors of SOUR PATCH KIDS candy to life in a fun, on-the-go snack option in easy, grab-and-go tubes. Go-GURT SOUR PATCH KIDS flavored yogurt will be available in two popular SOUR PATCH KIDS candy flavors, Redberry and Blue Raspberry. This marks Go-GURT's first-ever flavor collaboration.
Inspired by the true SOUR PATCH KIDS Redberry and Blue Raspberry flavors, this new Go-GURT brings a fun, on-trend flavor profile to the yogurt case. As both adults and children indicate a growing interest in sour flavors, this launch offers a fun twist to the traditionally sweet flavors consumers have come to expect from yogurt.
"As a brand, we are always looking for new ways to create more fun for families," said Tsubasa Tanaka, Business Unit Director, Yogurt, General Mills. "With this collaboration, we're bringing together two beloved brands known for their ability to instigate fun – Go-GURT and SOUR PATCH KIDS – to create an incredible snack experience."
With Go-GURT SOUR PATCH KIDS flavored yogurt, consumers will find the sour and sweet taste that is authentically reminiscent of the iconic treat in a fun, ready-to-pack snack. Just like original Go-GURT, the new yogurt flavors can be added to a lunchbox frozen and will be thawed and ready to enjoy by lunchtime.
"The SOUR PATCH KIDS brand is always looking for new opportunities to expand our brand presence across categories," said Wesley Saraceni, Senior Brand Manager, Candy, Mondelez. "We're very excited to collaborate with Go-GURT, and bring together two iconic, well-loved brands."
This collaboration marks the first time Go-GURT has launched a co-branded yogurt flavor, moving beyond on-package partnerships to incorporate another brand's flavor profile. The two new flavors will be available at retailers nationwide and will start appearing on store shelves in January.
Go-GURT SOUR PATCH KIDS flavored yogurt will be available in 8 and 16 count cartons that contain both Blue Raspberry and Redberry flavored yogurt in easy, grab-and-go tubes. Like all Go-GURT flavors, SOUR PATCH KIDS flavored yogurt is low-fat and does not contain high fructose corn syrup.
