New Active Jacs Feature Fan-Favorite Styles Inspired from the Carhartt Archives
DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- For 50 years, the Carhartt Active Jac has been trusted by hardworking people to brave rough weather and take on the toughest conditions. The iconic jacket built a legacy of durability, dependability and never slowing down, and with a reputation like that, You Don't Turn 50, You Earn 50. To recognize its half-century of grit, grind and serving hardworking people everywhere, Carhartt is celebrating the milestone with new limited-edition Active Jacs inspired by fan-favorite styles from the archives.
"We are excited to celebrate the Active Jac for not only Turning 50, but Earning 50 – standing as a symbol of perseverance and progress for the hardworking people shaping our world," said Susan Hennike, Chief Brand Officer at Carhartt. "Rooted in our heritage, the 50th Anniversary Active Jacs honor half a century of hard work and look ahead to the limitless possibilities still to come."
The new anniversary Active Jacs pay homage to several game-changing styles over the past 50 years, with new styles inspired by key moments in its history:
- Montana Loose Fit Washed Duck Active Jac: Inspired by the 1994 Southwest Active Jac and featuring knit intarsia panel designed by Bethany Yellowtail. Available in both Men's and Women's cuts
- J140 Loose Fit Firm Duck Insulated Flannel-Lined Jac: Inspired by the 1990 Red Firm Duck Active Jac
- Loose Fit Denim Active Jac: Pays tribute to the original 1975 launch with a flannel-lined update
- Full Swing® Loose Fit Washed Duck Insulated Active Jac: Reengineered with stretch panels and Cordura® reinforcements for enhanced mobility
- Loose Fit Waxed Cotton Active Jac: Built with British Millerain for a durable water-repellent finish
To celebrate five decades of unmatched durability, Carhartt also unveiled a new brand story as a tribute to the original heavy-duty, hooded silhouette that has earned its place as Carhartt's best-selling jacket. Showcasing the Active Jac's generational impact, "Living a Legacy" spotlights the Johnson family, a crew of lobster fishermen turned kelp farmers from Long Island, Maine. For centuries, the Johnsons have worked the waters of Casco Bay, with the Active Jac woven into their story—adapting alongside them as they navigated change and upheld their tradition of making a living from the sea.
The limited-edition Active Jacs will be available for purchase on Carhartt.com and select retailers nationwide on Sept. 23.
