'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' to Launch Website for Information on Selling Goods and Services to Government Agencies
NEW YORK, April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nelson Nigel, whose leadership at construction firm Head Contracting earned him the Small Business Administration's "Young Entrepreneur of the Year" award in 2008, is building on his experience in negotiating government contracts to launch the first stage of his tech startup, a website named http://www.governmentprocurementexposed.com. The site will mass-market e-books on the how-to of government procurement, the selling of goods and services by private companies to all levels of government. Included will be such information as how to apply for government contracts, tips on bidding against competitors, and the laws and regulations overseeing the process.
"The federal government alone, let alone states, counties, and municipalities, spends over $500 billion a year on purchases from private enterprises, everything from jet fighters to ballpoint pens," says Nigel. "The e-books will provide step-by-step instruction on the process of becoming a government vendor."
In four months, Nigel will debut an assortment of new sites offering further information on this subject, each focusing on a specific area:
- Corporate: http://www.corporationprocurementexposed.com;
- Construction: http://www.constructionprocurementexposed.com;
- Special programs geared toward women and minorities: http://www.womenandminoritiesprocurementopportunities.com.
Chief among them, however, will be http://www.headexposed.com, a general reference source for the entire catalog of e-books and miscellaneous materials.
After laying the groundwork with these five web sites, Nigel will introduce HTTP://WWW.PROOKURE.COM in February of 2012. A central database customized according to geographic location, it will serve as a business-to-business listing, connecting vendors and clients - corporate, governmental, and within the construction industry - on a global scale.
"This registry will allow smaller private enterprises to connect with major corporations worldwide in a way they have never been able to before," says Nigel.
It is likely to be a subscription-based service.
