Zero-compromise Protection for iPhone Users
New screen protector technology matches the clarity and oleophobic anti-fingerprint functionality of an uncovered iPhone screen.
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- New Anti-Fingerprint screen protector technology designed to match the clarity and anti-fingerprint functionality of the iPhone 4S screen.
Fingerprints and scratches are some of the biggest annoyances of smartphone use. The iPhone screen has an oleophobic (i.e. oil-repellant) coating that resists fingerprints, but its reinforced glass is still prone to unsightly scratches. Many users cover their screens with a film protector to stop scratches, but most of these films are not fingerprint-resistant. These opposing concerns create a dilemma for consumers: cover the screen with a film and live with unsightly fingerprints, or live without a screen cover while the iPhone accumulates ugly scratches?
"Our goal was to have a no-compromise solution," says Dick Chen, President of Green Onions Supply, an experienced computer accessory manufacturer. "We wanted users to be able to maintain the clarity and fingerprint-fighting qualities of their iPhone, and still get peace of mind from the added scratch resistance of a screen protector."
The result is Green Onions Supply's new Crystal Oleophobic screen protector for the iPhone 4 and 4S. These protectors have a specialty oleophobic coating that is very similar to the uncovered iPhone's oleophobic coating. It repels the oil found in fingerprints and smudges, which provides higher clarity and easier cleaning.
Normal non-oleophobic screen protectors are smudged and fingerprinted easily, and those oily marks show up as graininess and diffraction when the screen is on. With the Oleophobic Screen Protectors, even a thick layer of smudges and prints will be invisible when the screen is on.
These protectors are 0.1 mm thick, which is well below the maximum film thickness of 0.3 mm dictated by Apple. This thinness provides perfect touch-sensitivity.
The Crystal Oleophobic screen protectors also provide better clarity than other films. The clear finish is very transparent, and has none of visual artifacts found on cheaper films. This clarity makes it difficult to distinguish between a covered and uncovered screen, which is another boon for users who want their screens to look and feel uncovered.
"It doesn't make sense to put a cheap screen film on an iPhone; you just ruin your experience," says Mr. Chen. "That's why we made a protector that can perfectly complement the iPhone's look and feel."
Crystal Oleophobic Screen Protectors are available now. They will also be on display at the 2012 CES at Green Onions Supply's booth: South Hall 3 booth #32042.
