Zhejiang CFMOTO Power Co.,Ltd. CF650G Motorcycle Designated As Official Escorting Motorcycle of State Guests During APEC Meeting
HANGZHOU, China, Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- This year's APEC meeting, being held in Beijing, China from Nov 5-11, will feature motorcycle escorts for the leaders of 21 countries who will be in attendance as a security element to ensure their safety and to show hospitality. In a break from a decade-old protocol, these escorting motorcycles appeared again in this year's APEC meeting, it also was seen their appearance in the motorcade of Russian President Vladimir Putin as he travelled from the airport to the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in central Beijing on Nov 9th, drawing widespread attention.
What really surprised everybody was that these escorting motorcycles were made by a Chinese manufacturer, Zhejiang CFMOTO Power Co., Ltd. ("CFMOTO" or "the Company"). The CFMOTO CF650G, a domestically-produced escorting motorcycle, will be a feature of the summit meeting, offering a chance for the company to show off China's increasing power. President Obama is slated to attend, as are the leaders of Russia, Japan and other countries among APEC's 21 members. It means a lot for China's domestic motorcycle industry to have a home-made motorcycle qualified to be used for motorcycle escort.
The CFMOTO CF650G features a front face design that stems from the guardian lion statue in Tiananmen Square, transmitting to the world a mighty and solemn impression. The vehicle body is mainly white, decorated with traditional Chinese colors of red and yellow as a symbol of a rising Five-Starred Red Flag and the magnificent Great Wall.
There are extremely strict requirements for escorting motorcycles. Besides the need for running absolutely stably, it also requires that the bike meet supreme standards in many areas, such as design, power, safety, technique, operation and comfort, as well as enhancing the national image. It is hard to believe that has taken only 10 months from the launch of an international first-class escorting motorcycle considering to its delivery for official use.
Motorcycle escort is a top protocol arrangement and a measure of security for a foreign head of state or head of government. It is also a normal practice in many countries. China had conducted motorcycle escorts since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, but stopped the practice on Jan. 1, 2004. In 2013 the government confirmed that it would resume motorcylce escort as part of protocol arrangements and made clear that all escorting motorcycles must be manufactured by a domestic brand. In the past, Honda and BMW motorcycles had been used for escorting. After participating the escorting motorcycle program, CFMOTO stood out from more than 200 domestic motorcycle manufacturers.
With its staff's unremitting efforts day after day, CFMOTO successfully developed a new model in time for consideration, a process that should usually take several years. In terms of performance, the bike's 650cc parallel double cylinder engine is a reliable guarantee of superb power. The motorcycle has a maximum speed of 177km/h. In addition, the CF650G is the first domestic motorcylce to use an ABS system, making for a huge improvement of its safety. Its specially-installed electric adjustable windshield is free of resistance even in high-speed driving. It also includes features that are the product of a number of innovative patents that have been put into use in a motorcycle for the first time. In order to meet specific security needs, the CFMOTO CF650G even has the function of audio and video transmission between vehicles and a control center.
Having its product chosen for motorcycle escort is a memorable moment for CFMOTO and is a milestone in the company's history. Looking into the future, CFMOTO feels more responsibility from having such an honor hoisted onto its shoulder. Instead of being satisfied with present achievements, the Company will keep moving ahead, striving to provide more outstanding and trustworthy products to customers and fans globally. It is our mission to become the top supplier of power sports products and we will realize it step by step.
