Ziff Davis Enterprise Realigns Management of eWEEK for OmniDigital Initiative
Veteran Editors Ferguson, Preimesberger Promoted To Joint Editor-in-Chief Roles
NEW YORK, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff Davis Enterprise announced today that it is re-aligning its eWEEK editorial structure to support its new OmniDigital strategy and reflect the way its readers access and utilize content.
"The versatile nature of digital platforms allows IT professionals to not only search for news and information when and where they want it, but also to enjoy richly-endowed multimedia analytical and feature content," said CEO Steve Weitzner. "To reflect this dual utility of digital platforms we are implementing a new editorial management structure in which Scott Ferguson and Chris Preimesberger are being named co-Editors-in-Chief of the eWEEK brand in all its forms and on every platform--from Smartphones through tablets to the desktop."
Preimesberger will be Editor-in-Chief, eWEEK Features and Analysis, focusing on analytical, industry sweeping articles, special reports and other investigative content. He will also be the face of the magazine in the marketplace and at many key industry events.
Ferguson will become Editor-in-Chief, eWEEK News, continuing to manage the reporting staff and concentrating on the news that funnels through eWEEK eNewsletters, websites, and digital magazines as well as the suite of Smartphone and tablet applications recently introduced.
Both Preimesberger and Ferguson will report to Ziff Davis Enterprise Senior Vice President and Editorial Director Elliot Markowitz. Working with Markowitz and the entire eWEEK staff, Ferguson and Preimesberger will collaborate to create the best possible user experience on each digital device as Ziff Davis Enterprise continues to roll out the OmniDigital platform.
Chris Preimesberger joined eWEEK in 2006 as a senior writer and has covered a broad range of IT sectors. His expertise includes data centersystems, cloud computing, storage, virtualization, green IT, e-discovery and IT governance — the hottest hot buttons in today's IT industry. His blog, Storage Station, is considered a go-to information source on the subject. Preimesberger won a Folio Award for national magazine writing in November 2011 for his eWEEK cover story on Salesforce.com and CEO/founder Marc Benioff.
Scott Ferguson was previously Editor-in-Chief of eWEEK.com and focused mainly on the brand's website and eNewsletters. Before that, he served as eWEEK Managing Editor, East Coast. He has also worked as a staff writer for eWEEK, eWEEK.com and Channel Insider.
Eric Lundquist, former eWEEK editorial director, is leaving Ziff Davis Enterprise to pursue other interests.
