Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc. Sponsors Team To Benefit Rady Children's Hospital In The "Shamu & You" Walk At SeaWorld
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc. is sponsoring a team to participate in the "Shamu & You" Family Walk at SeaWorld, to be held Oct. 6, 2012. The event's goal is to raise funds to help with life-saving efforts for kids at Rady Children's Hospital. The walk offers a choice of a 1-mile or 4-mile course, with post-event festivities at the finish line including games, entertainment, food and fun for kids of all ages. Thus far, Zodiac has contributed more than $2200 to the organization and has more than 70 employees and family members walking in the event.

Zodiac Pool Systems, a leading manufacturer of pool and spa products, has developed an in-house charitable organization called PATH, Providing Alternative Tomorrows with Hope, whose role is to develop volunteerism in the company for the local community. A group of employees who formed the steering committee for PATH meet monthly to determine appropriate activities in which to participate.
Jill Rooks, Zodiac's director of information systems and technologies, is a driving force behind the group. "We have a great team of people here who really believe in helping their local communities, especially focusing on children, and who care about supporting those who may be dealing with illness, absentee military parents, local ecology, or other challenges. It's been a good experience for all of us, and with each event, the numbers of people participating are growing," said Rooks. "This walk has the most participation yet – but we have just started and we invite anyone who would like to join to consider what a good thing they are doing for the children of San Diego."
Since its founding in January, the group has participated in and hosted multiple events. The events included two beach clean-ups for the Surfrider FoundationSM, a toy drive for Rady Children's Hospital, a breast cancer awareness walk for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, and a very successful American Red Cross® blood drive.
