ZUCA Invites Aspiring Designers To Enter Bag Design Contest

MILPITAS, Calif., Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- It's time again for ZUCA's annual Color Me ZUCA design contest.  Open to anyone, of any age, worldwide, the contest seeks fresh, innovative bag design concepts for the ZUCA Sport Collection.

Now in its ninth year, the Color Me ZUCA contest was created as a way to showcase global design talent while providing the ZUCA team with in-depth insight into consumer preferences for color and imagery.

To enter, participants must submit a hand-drawn, hand-colored design.  Participants are advised to use five colors or less and to create a design that would coordinate with several ZUCA Sport frames. 

Winners will be chosen based on creativity, visual appeal, and production viability.  Entries will first be judged by a panel of ZUCA team members who will narrow the field to 15 semi-finalists.  After that, voting will be opened to the public. 

The first place prize is commercial production of the winning design as part of ZUCA's 2016 spring collection, four ZUCA Sport bags (two featuring the designer's submission), and four accessories. 

The second place winner will receive one ZUCA Sport bag of their choice and three accessories.  The third place winner will receive one ZUCA Sport bag of their choice and two accessories.  In addition, all finalists will receive a 50% discount coupon code good for one single purchase up to $1000.00 at www.zuca.com.

Public voting will take place at zuca.com and will be limited to one vote per person.  Full project rules and a design contest template are available at www.zuca.com/contests.

In 2014, the first place prize went to Anouchka of Amsterdam, Netherlands, winning with a pink and blue flowering tree design titled "Hanami." Second place was awarded to Jonathan of San Jose, Calif., USA; and third place went to Autumn of Saskatchewan, Canada.  Past contest submissions have been fielded from more than eight countries.
