I AM ALS is a community-led nonprofit organization on a mission to accelerate a cure for ALS—and we're doing it by putting people impacted by the disease at the center of our work. I AM ALS has been called “one of the most successful patient advocacy movements of the 21st century.” We believe that ALS isn't untreatable; it's underfunded, and we’re a community accelerating a cure for ALS.

Since 2020, I AM ALS has helped unlock more than $2.1 billion in federal research funding—including a record-breaking $313 million secured in 2026—while expanding access to promising treatments and building a bold, growing community of patients, caregivers, and advocates who refuse to accept the status quo.
