Actress Judy Reyes Supports 3rd Annual Bowling for Breastcancer.org Fundraiser
Reyes Joins New York Media Powerhouses to Raise Money and Awareness for Breast Cancer
NEW YORK, Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Socially conscious media professionals and actress Judy Reyes (Gun Hill Road, Scrubs) will come together to raise money for Breastcancer.org on February 15, 2012. The 3rd Annual Bowling for Breastcancer.org will be held at Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge in Manhattan from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Proceeds from the charity fundraiser will help fund expansion of the newly launched Spanish translation, Think Pink, Live Green—Breastcancer.org's Global Breast Cancer Prevention Initiative, enhancements to Breastcancer.org's current online content, mobile optimization, and video programming.
Breastcancer.org is the leading online resource for breast health and breast cancer information and support. Breastcancer.org is a place where women and men affected by breast cancer can find everything they need now: the most up-to-date medical information and research, risk and prevention information, a supportive and robust online community, and a friendly and compassionate atmosphere.
"I'm thrilled to join Breastcancer.org for this annual event," said Judy Reyes. "As the national spokesperson for Breastcancer.org and the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, I recognize the importance of accessible, easy-to-understand medical information in Spanish. It's vital we support Breastcancer.org and expand the Spanish translation site for the Latina woman and her community."
"Breastcancer.org helped my sisters and does the same for over 8 million women, their families, and friends annually as they deal with this disease. As advertising and media professionals, we understand the importance and availability of world-class information when dealing with these types of life-changing issues," states Richy Glassberg, COO, Medhelp.org, organizing committee co-chair for the event and a member of Breastcancer.org's Board of Directors. "Breastcancer.org is the number one site for women around the globe facing this terrible disease. With the money raised from this event, we've been able to create and deliver major resources to a whole new audience: Spanish-speaking individuals."
