American Trucking Associations Seeks Nominations for America's Road Team

ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, American Trucking Associations announced it is seeking nominations for professional truck drivers to serve on the 2015-2016 America's Road Team.

"America's Road Team are great ambassadors for our industry," said ATA President and CEO Bill Graves. "They have represented all segments of trucking and every region of the country and I look forward to this new team continuing to reflect that diversity."

Every two years, ATA searches for professional truck drivers, both men and women, who are willing to take time away from the cab of the truck to serve as an industry ambassador. As America's Road Team Captains, these professional drivers take a few days each month to meet with the motoring public, the news media, students, transportation officials and public policy makers to demonstrate the trucking industry's commitment to safety, the essentiality of the trucking industry and the industry's sustainability record. 

In addition, Road Team Captains appear at events ranging from driver safety meetings to National Truck Driving Championships to reinforce the importance of safety and professionalism in our industry.

Since 1986, America's Road Team Captains have traveled the country educating millions on the importance of safety, the essentiality of the industry and the need for pride and professionalism within trucking. By educating the motoring public, business and community leaders, professional truck drivers, public officials and the media, the America's Road Team Captains make a difference.
