DALLAS, Aug. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Ashford Hospitality Trust, Inc. (NYSE: AHT) ("Ashford Trust" or the "Company") announced today that it has priced its underwritten public offering of 3,400,000 shares of 7.50% Series H Cumulative Preferred Stock (the "Preferred Stock") at $25.00 per share. Dividends on the Preferred Stock will accrue at a rate of 7.50% per annum on the liquidation preference of $25.00 per share. Settlement of the offering is expected to occur on or about August 25, 2017. The underwriters have been granted an option to purchase an additional 510,000 shares as part of this offering.
Ashford Trust intends to use the net proceeds of this Preferred Stock offering for general corporate purposes, which may include but are not limited to: the redemption, in whole or in part, of its 8.55% Series A Cumulative Preferred Stock or 8.45% Series D Cumulative Preferred Stock; the acquisition of additional properties or hospitality-related investments, as suitable opportunities arise; capital expenditures; and/or the repayment of outstanding indebtedness.
