MIAMI, Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Miami's St. Thomas University (www.stu.edu) is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week - the world's largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life - for the fifth consecutive year. The program has demonstrated its continuity due to the increasing number of individuals who decide to chart their own courses in the business arena instead of waiting to get a job in a most competitive environment.
Last week, the "Crossing Borders" panel discussion and networking reception served as this year's kick-off, with featured speakers Manny Mencia, Senior VP form Enterprise Florida and the Hon. H. Ricardo Treco, Bahamas Consul General to Miami. From November 20th to 22nd, South Florida business leaders are coming to campus to share their journeys, obstacles and successes to instill the "make it happen" attitude in youngsters and urge them to learn about potential rewards that come from being their own boss. STU is steadily engaging the wider community through its Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, directed by Dr. Justin Peart. Highlights for the week's events and panels follow.
