Field & Stream Specialty Store to Open June 13 in Erie, PA

PITTSBURGH, May 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Field & Stream, a specialty retail concept carrying the best brands to meet the evolving needs of hunters, anglers and outdoor enthusiasts, is celebrating the opening of its new store in Erie, PA with the first-ever Field & Stream Camp 1871, an overnight camping event with exclusive prizes and activities. The new Field & Stream store is located at Millcreek Marketplace, 2075 Interchange Road.

"We are excited to open the Erie Field & Stream store and host our first-ever Field & Stream Camp 1871 campout," said Jack Barnes, General Merchandise Manager, Field & Stream.  "We look forward to providing great brands, products and customer service to all outdoor enthusiasts."

The community is invited to join Field & Stream Camp 1871 on Thursday, June 12 through Friday, June 13. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in exclusive activities, including a catered cookout and Campout Challenges. Campers will receive one free Field & Stream Great Bend 5 Person Dome Tent per campsite.

To commemorate Father's Day weekend, Field & Stream will select three registered campers who use #wheretraditionsbegin to share their Father's Day photo or story to receive a VIP Campout experience with an outdoor prize package.

The Grand Opening will commence with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13. Prior to the ribbon-cutting, Nate Hosie, musician and co-host of "HeadHunters TV," will perform at approximately 9:30 a.m. There will be additional door-busters, giveaways and festivities Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June 15.

Several special guests will make in-store appearances throughout the weekend including Troy and Jacob Landry, from the Swamp People® series and R. Lee Ermey, best known as "The Gunny" in Full Metal Jacket. Customers can also get tips from professional anglers at the 4,000 gallon Field & Stream bass tank, practice at the Field & Stream archery trailer and test out boats in the 14,000 gallon paddle pool.
