AKRON, Ohio, Sept. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstEnergy (NYSE: FE) is in the process of completing service restorations for the customers who lost power as a result of Hurricane Irene.
In New Jersey, the company is focusing on areas that were previously inaccessible because of flooding, particularly in northern New Jersey.
Most of the remaining 14,000 Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) customers should be restored by Sunday.
In eastern Pennsylvania, the remaining 1,400 Metropolitan Edison (Met-Ed) customers without power should have service restored by Sunday.
