"IC the Future!" is a web-based panel discussion that brings together several industry thought leaders and technology specialists and creates a platform for sharing knowledge, as well as identifying new business opportunities in the semiconductor industry. The first of this series of virtual panel discussions will discuss the Internet of Everything and the opportunities it holds for semiconductor and sensor companies.
Internet of Everything (IoE) is the future that awaits our society today -- a world where not just individuals, but every aspect of human life is connected to a system and can be recognized, located and controlled through the Internet. This includes a wide range of applications, such as home and building automation; smart grid and energy management; asset tracking in different institutions like hospitals, factories, other large organizations; and remote patient monitoring. IoE is also a point of convergence for several technologies and businesses that creates a huge repository of information, which could be converted into opportunities for businesses and individuals.
The key objectives of this panel discussion are to:
- De-mystify the futuristic trends of IoE and highlight their implications for businesses today.
- Highlight the opportunities created by IoE and the strategies that businesses need to adopt to capitalize on them.
Specific application areas that this panel will cover include: communications and networking – wireline and wireless and server and storage – data centers and cloud. The audience that will benefit from this discussion are: CEOs, CTOs and heads of marketing; business and product managers and vice presidents; venture capitalists and potential investors; companies/OEMs, system integrators involved in design, manufacturing and distribution of semiconductors and sensors products and solutions.
"The Internet economy is entering an exciting phase that is going to propel its growth beyond expectations and semiconductor and sensor products will be the key technology enablers from a hardware perspective," said Frost & Sullivan Semiconductor Program Manager Aravind Seshagiri. "As a matter of fact, the semiconductor industry will move into newer realms of technology and scale new heights."
