To celebrate the unprecedented talent housed at the shop, Gap and Cool Hunting will be hosting a series of events to spotlight special designers and products now through January 2. "Cool Hunting is about honoring designers and artists who embrace true craftsmanship," said Josh Rubin, Founder and Editor in Chief of Cool Hunting. "It's awesome to be partnering with Gap to offer a platform for the work of so many talented New York artisans and visionaries. The shop offers our dedicated fans and shoppers a physical place to experience the extraordinary creativity that inspires our site. I want to keep one of everything."
In keeping with the tradition of the craftsman culture, the look and feel of the shop channels a cozy winter sanctuary, created by local designer by Kenyan (Earnest Sewn, The Smile, House of Waris). Infusing modern-rustic textures with a warm ambiance, the shop integrates hanging light fixtures, panels made of salvaged barn wood, antique Persian rugs, bead board paneling, chandeliers by Roll and Hill, decorative painting by Evolving Image and wood top tables with metal gas pipe legs, all surrounded by one-of-a-kind art installations, including one-of-a-kind Jonathan Adler sculptures and one of Ian Hundley's map-based quilts. The shop's graphics were created by Matt Van Ekeren. Visitors will shop to music from New York-based musicians created by RCRD LBL.
