Get Fit for Life! Highmark Blue Shield Presents Eighth Annual Fun, Fit & Fabulous! Women's Health Conference in Hershey

CAMP HILL, Pa., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2010 Fun, Fit & Fabulous! women's health conference will inspire and provide women with the tools and resources to get "Fit for Life!" The eighth annual event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 21 from 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center at 325 University Drive, Hershey.

During the past seven years, Highmark Blue Shield has helped more than 7,000 women have a greater hand in their health through the Fun, Fit & Fabulous! women's health conference. The purpose of this conference is to advance healthy lifestyle changes by educating women to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.

Women can look forward to a variety of health-related workshops including "Understanding Breast Cancer;" "A Sugar Free Me, how to avoid and treat diabetes;" "Love Yourself, how to find balance in your life;" "Your Own Personal Summer, dealing with menopause;" and "Fight Back, the signs and risks of domestic violence." Back by popular demand, the "Ask the Doctor" session will present local physicians in a live discussion about the many health issues that affect women only.

Several free health screenings will be offered to help remind women the importance of "knowing their numbers" all year long, in addition to having regular physical exams. Women can have their cholesterol, glucose, bone density and blood pressure checked.

The featured speaker this year will be Kelli Calabrese, an international and award-winning fitness and exercise specialist. Known for her ability to help women go from where they are in life to where they dream to be, Ms. Calabrese will offer her insight into taking the steps toward living a healthier life.
