Glenn Meltzer, Robert Katz and Eugene Martin join Avison Young in Washington, DC area

Highly regarded industry veterans become Principals, will focus on office tenant and buyer representation across the DC Metro Region

WASHINGTON, DC, July 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ - Josh Peyton, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Washington, DC region, announced today the strategic hiring of highly regarded industry veterans Glenn Meltzer, Robert Katz and Eugene Martin.

Effective immediately, all three become Principals of Avison Young and will continue to work as a team, focusing on office tenant and buyer representation and advisory services in the Washington Metro area and across the U.S. Meltzer and Katz will be based in Avison Young's Washington, DC office and Martin will work out of the company's Tysons office in Virginia.

Meltzer, Katz and Martin bring a unique depth of combined real estate experience to Avison Young, most recently with The Ezra Company, an exclusively tenant-focused commercial real estate firm operating in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, where Meltzer was president, Katz was executive director and Martin served as executive vice-president.

Meltzer brings 34 years of commercial real estate experience in the DC region to Avison Young. During his career, he has focused exclusively on assisting clients with the tenant/buyer experience. His expertise is in the analysis, structure and negotiation of real estate transactions in lease, purchase, build-to-suit development and tenant-equity participation. His accolades include CoStar Power Broker awards for leasing transactions, Leasing Transaction of the Year from the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association (CREBA) of Greater DC, and Top Commercial Real Estate Broker in Washington DC and the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia Region. He has also received multiple industry awards for full-building-user transactions. Meltzer holds a BSBA degree from the American University School of Business Administration where he graduated magna cum laude.

Katz brings 34 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. At The Ezra Company, he specialized in tenant brokerage and consulting services both nationally and in the Washington metropolitan area. During his career, he has served tenants and buyers exclusively while being involved in all phases of the commercial real estate transaction process. He is recognized as a skilled negotiator in real estate markets across the country, assisting law firms, associations and corporations with local, national and international requirements. Katz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Guilford College.

Martin brings 30 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. During his tenure with The Ezra Company, he specialized in tenant consulting and brokerage activities, providing comprehensive deal analysis, creative strategies and detailed negotiation services on behalf of tenants and buyers. He is a recipient of the Leasing Transaction of the Year award from the CREBA of Greater DC and has also received awards for full-building-user transactions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the St. John's University School of Business.

Martin will be based in the Tysons office in Virginia, while the other newcomers will work out of the Washington, DC location.

Today's announcement comes on the heels of John Sikaitis, Nick Guglietta and Carl Caputo joining Avison Young, also in the Washington, DC office, on July 11, 2019 to lead the firm's global innovation practice.
