Platform Data Reveals a 17 Percent Year-Over-Year Increase in Multifamily Property Lending in the First Half of 2026
LOS ALAMITOS, Calif., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GoDocs, the leader in commercial loan document automation, today shared data from their platform that highlights the trends in multifamily property lending in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. The data, highlighted in the "H1 2026 Multifamily Lending Trend report" showed an increase in multifamily lending, that is consistent with the resurgence in lending other commercial lending categories.
Looking at loans originated in the first half of 2026 compared to the first half of 2025, GoDocs saw a 17.2 percent increase in commercial loans for multifamily properties. In addition to an increase in the number of loans, GoDocs also saw a year-over-year increase in the size of multifamily loans. The median loan size for a multifamily commercial loan rose by 8.3 percent, with the growth skewing at the larger end of loans making the mean increase 23.3 percent.
"Multifamily remains the anchor of commercial real estate lending and for 2026 we are seeing that continue with both the volume and sizes of loans growing.
