Green Science Alliance Co., Ltd. Started Making Small Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) and Custom Synthesis, Measurement of an Electrode and the Solid Electrolyte of Their SOFC Materials

KAWANISHI, Japan, Oct. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Green Science Alliance Co., Ltd. has started custom synthesis and measurement of an electrode and the solid electrolyte of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).

Fuel cells are being intensively developed because they are a highly efficient power source that can directly change the chemical energy of gases such as hydrogen, into electricity. Especially SOFC is said to be a highly efficient electrical power source. Its low CO2 emission is an attractive feature in the context of energy savings and sustainability.

The company has been in the business of synthesizing and supplying various types of electrodes and solid electrolytes for SOFCs already. It will now start custom synthesis of those materials and measurement of electrochemical technical data based on customer requests.

Materials can be supplied as powder, printable ink, or pellets for electrode and solid electrolyte. Measurement data will include X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images, current–voltage (I–V) curves, impedance measurements, and particle size. They will also accept requests from customers for measuring other experimental data.

In addition, they will also make small SOFCs. The company will also develop advanced SOFCs that will impart electrical power efficiently especially at low temperatures.

In the near future, they will work on developing proton conductive fuel cells (PCFC) and SOFCs that utilize ammonia as fuel source instead of hydrogen.
