HealthWell Foundation Announces Panel Sessions at the 2025 Healthcare Advocate Summit

Behavioral Health Services – Patient Challenges in Accessing and Affording Care: Wednesday, September 3, 2025 – 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.

During the session, panelists will provide background on individuals living with behavioral health issues, such as anxiety, depression and schizophrenia, who often face significant challenges in finding appropriate services and providers. Access and affordability are critical factors in this struggle. Many patients even avoid seeking treatment due to the stigma surrounding their conditions. Identifying unmet behavioral health needs for both patients and caregivers is crucial to breaking down barriers to care. In this discussion, panelists will share valuable resources to help patients access and maintain prescribed behavioral health treatments.

How to Compliantly Work with Charitable Patient Assistance Programs (CPAPs): Wednesday, September 3, 2025 – 3:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. (Live stream)

 Navigating the complexities of a chronic or life-altering illness can be challenging for patients, families, advocates, providers, and anyone involved in their health care journey. Charitable patient assistance programs (CPAPs) play a vital role in helping patients access and maintain life-changing, potentially lifesaving, medical treatments. During this session, CPAP representatives will share available resources, best practices for navigating and enrolling in their programs compliantly, and insights on how CPAPs work together to assist patients in achieving better health outcomes. 

Addressing the Clinical Diagnosis of Financial Toxicity – A Deep Dive into Solution-Based Resources to Mitigate the Impact on Patients and the Health Care Community: Thursday, September 4, 2025 – 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. (Live stream)

For many patients living with a chronic or life-altering illness, the cost of accessing and staying on prescribed medical treatments can be overwhelming. Financial toxicity is a growing concern affecting patients, providers, family members, caregivers, and advocates. During this session, panelists will confront these challenges and provide solution-based resources to guide anyone involved in the patient's journey.

Caregivers – Balancing Patient Care with Self-Care: Thursday, September 4, 2025 – 12:30 p.m. – 1:20 p.m.

Providing caregiving services to a family member, friend, or loved one can significantly impact the caregiver. Often, caregivers prioritize the needs of the patient over their own, leading to burnout and adversely affecting their financial, mental, and physical well-being. During this discussion, panelists will explore best practices and resources to support caregivers in maintaining their own health and well-being.
