GERMANTOWN, Md., June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Once again, Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, has been honored by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) as one of the Washington, D.C. area's best places to work. In addition, Hughes was one of 28 Mid-Atlantic regional businesses to have demonstrated their commitment to environmental sustainability, receiving the EcoLeadership Award. These awards will be presented to the 73 winning companies at the AWE Annual Awards Luncheon being held on June 11, 2012 at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
The Alliance has recognized the best places to work for the past thirteen years, honoring organizations that promote professional fulfillment and personal wellness—at work, at home, and in the community, as well as their commitment to environmental sustainability.
"Hughes is honored to be recognized again this year as one of the area's best places to work and to be one of only 18 organizations to receive all three awards," said Pradman Kaul, president of Hughes. "Our employees are our most important asset, and we are committed to providing a positive work environment with a range of wellness resources to ensure they achieve a healthy work-life balance."
Michelle Pearre, vice president of Human Resources at Hughes added, "Hughes offers a variety of exercise programs and facilities, as well as numerous health and wellness programs which we believe helps employees be more productive and creative; and recognition of our commitment to environmental sustainability reflects many new 'green' initiatives undertaken across the company."
