Jordache Enterprises Is Seeing Green
The denim brand is now eco-friendly
NEW YORK, Nov. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Jordache Enterprises is officially on the green grid. The denim giant has just announced that it will utilize solar energy to power one of the largest solar plants on a single rooftop in the Northeast.
The Jordache facility, located in South Plainfield, New Jersey, serves as an 800K square foot distribution center, which is now covered with reflective thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membrane manufactured by Versico Roofing Systems. The TPO roof membrane is covered by an extensive array of energy-generating solar panels. With the help of 400K square feet of roof space, the brand has just completed "Phase I," which is 1.4 megawatts, of a two-part process to power the entire warehouse with 2.4 megawatts of energy.
Executive Vice President of Jordache Enterprises, Eddie Ben-Aderet made the announcement. "The Jordache brand's priority is to provide the best products at competitive prices for our customers. Now we can continue to produce quality product with the peace of mind that we are doing so with clean, green resources."
"Versico is excited to be involved in this cutting-edge project," said David French, Marketing Manager for Versico. "The combination of white, reflective TPO membrane and photovoltaic technology will not only generate clean, renewable energy but will also enable Jordache to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint."
The conglomerate anticipates a yearly savings of 80% percent on energy costs once "Phase II" is installed. The second phase gives the green light for the company to add more solar panels on an additional 300K of roof space, hence gaining another megawatt of clean energy.
Jordache Enterprises is an American icon that is not only keeping jobs within the United States, but is now eco-friendly.
