LIONSGATE'S JOHN WICK: CHAPTER 3 - PARABELLUM SELLS OVER 3 MILLION UNITS ON PACKAGED MEDIA, EST AND VOD IN HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEBUT

SANTA MONICA, Calif. and VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing the robust growth of the John Wick franchise, Lionsgate's John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum surged to sales of over 3 million packaged media, electronic sell-through (EST) and video-on-demand (VOD) units in its home entertainment launch, the studio announced today. The title also passed John Wick Part 2 in its first three days of EST release on its way to becoming Lionsgate's highest-grossing EST title of all time.   

The Company noted that other digital sales are equally robust and John Wick: Chapter 3 is now positioned to become Lionsgate's highest-grossing home entertainment title since The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 in 2014. John Wick: Chapter 3 streeted on DVD and BluRay last week and launched on EST in late August.

John Wick: Chapter 3 grossed $171 million theatrically at the domestic box office and $321 million worldwide, nearly doubling the box office performance of John Wick 2. The studio reported that John Wick 3 is over-indexing on home entertainment platforms at a level comparable to action titles that have grossed over $250 million at the domestic box office, underscoring its appeal to home entertainment consumers.

John Wick 4 will be released in theaters nationwide on May 21, 2021.
