LRS Announces Enhanced Epic Interface Solution

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Dec. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS) is announcing an enhanced interface for managing output from Epic^® healthcare applications. The new VPSX/EI (Epic Interface) solution provides a simplified GUI-based administration interface, superior performance, and improved supportability. This enhanced interface is available at no charge for VPSX customers currently running previous versions of LRS' Epic print solution.

The new VPSX/EI solution runs as a single executable, replacing the multiple modules of the first-generation Epic interface, for improved I/O performance. Graphical configuration screens streamline the process of installing and configuring the solution, and custom processing will be provided through easily maintained "plug-ins." A major benefit is in the area of memory management when previewing large Release of Information (ROI) files from Epic. Improved memory management allows the new solution to lower the RAM utilization during an ROI preview job by several GB – thus improving throughput and lowering server RAM requirements.
