McCormick Announces 75th Annual Unsung Heroes Awards Banquet
SPARKS, Md., April 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- McCormick & Company, Incorporated (NYSE: MKC), a global leader in flavor, today announced the honorees for the 75th Annual McCormick Unsung Heroes Awards Banquet to be held on Monday, May 4. The keynote address will be given by Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Denver Broncos, five-time NFL MVP and 14-time Pro Bowl selection.
The Unsung Heroes banquet honors deserving female basketball players and male football players. A total of 118 high school seniors from 73 Baltimore area public, private, parochial and independent schools have been nominated. Two of the honorees—one male and one female, will each receive the 2015 Charles Perry McCormick Scholarship, valued at $40,000 over four academic years.
Originally established in 1940 by former Chairman Charles P. McCormick Sr., the program recognizes unselfish team play and honors those who contribute substantially to the success of their teams without receiving acclaim. The program is reflective of McCormick & Company's core belief in The Power of People.
More than 700 city and county officials, school administrators, coaches, honorees and guests are expected to attend this year's event.
