MD Johnson, Inc. Advises Phil Smart Jr on the Sale of Phil Smart Mercedes Benz to Al Monjazeb, renamed Mercedes Benz of Seattle

SEATTLE, Feb. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- MD Johnson, Inc. announces the completion of the sale of Phil Smart Inc. to Al Monjazeb. The dealership is to be renamed Mercedes Benz of Seattle. Phil Smart Inc. was appointed a Mercedes dealer by Daimler in 1959 and was the second dealer franchised by Daimler in the US. The dealership has been located on Pike Street in downtown Seattle since its inception. Mr. Monjazeb will relocate the dealership in the near future to a brand new state of the art facility on Airport Way where the company currently operates its pre owned center. Mr. Smart also owns Mercedes Benz of Lynnwood along with his partner John Halata, brother to former MBUSA President, Paul Halata.

Mr. Monjazeb also owns Jaguar and Land Rover dealerships in Bellevue and Lynnwood and was formerly the BMW dealer in Bellevue. James Aiken of Aiken Law Group provided legal services to Mr. Smart. Dave Thomas provided legal services to Mr. Monjazeb. Mark Topping VP of MD Johnson Inc and Mark Johnson of MD Johnson Inc managed the transaction on behalf of Mr. Smart.
