SOLON, Ohio, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Nestle Prepared Foods Company today announced the voluntary recall of two hour codes of STOUFFER'S Satisfying Servings Lasagna Italiano, UPC 13800-44709. The production codes being recalled include 1349595513R and 1349595513S. The voluntary recall is limited to two hours of production, which was distributed to multiple states. No other production dates, sizes or varieties of STOUFFER'S products are affected by this recall.
Nestle is taking this action after two consumers reported finding STOUFFER'S Stuffed Peppers in their STOUFFER'S Lasagna Italiano packaging. No injuries or illness were reported by either of these consumers. The Stuffed Peppers recipe includes Worcestershire Sauce, which contains anchovy as an ingredient. Anchovy is an allergen and those consumers with fish allergies should not consume this product. For this important reason, we are conducting a voluntary recall of STOUFFER'S Lasagna Italiano.
The product being recalled was produced during December 2011. Due to its popularity, Nestle believes very little remains in retail distribution and is asking consumers to examine their freezer inventory for this product. Consumers should look for specific packages of STOUFFER'S Satisfying Servings Lasagna Italiano, UPC 13800-44709, which would carry the production codes 1349595513R or 1349595513S. To locate the production code, consumers should look for the "proof of purchase" panel, located on the right end flap of the package, below the ingredient statement.
Consumers who may have purchased the recalled STOUFFER'S item should not consume the product, but instead should contact Nestle Consumer Services at 1-800-392-4057 or firstname.lastname@example.org for further instructions. Nestle will provide a replacement coupon to affected consumers and also may make arrangements to retrieve the product for further examination.
