NHRA Fans to Pick New Team Wilkerson Racing Website
Online voting will determine scheme of new fan-interactive site.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill., June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Team Wilkerson Racing is putting NHRA® fans in the driver's seat by including them in the planning process for its website redesign. Drag racing fans, along with the general public, will be invited to vote online and select one of four design concepts to be integrated into the new Wilkerson site. Once redesigned, the site will enable fans to interact more with Team Wilkerson Racing through new site features.
The Team Wilkerson Racing website redesign is currently under development by LRS® Web Solutions in partnership with DotNetNuke, and both companies are providing all web tools and services to the initiative. Along with these corporate partners, the Wilkerson team wanted to invite NHRA fans to be an integral part of the proceedings as well.
"We're embracing change and a new look this year," notes Tim Wilkerson, Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc. Shelby Mustang Funny Car driver. "We already let our fans pick the new paint scheme unveiled at the beginning of the season. Response was overwhelmingly positive for that task, so we decided to put the fate of our website in the capable hands of our fans as well. They know who we are and what we stand for, so we're certain they will choose wisely on our behalf."
Four sleek web concepts are ready for review and have been carefully crafted, each by a different web designer from LRS Web Solutions. The four concepts were specifically created to modernize the look and feel of the Wilkerson site, and all convey the thrill of drag racing and the genuine appeal of Tim Wilkerson and his crew. Online voting begins June 27 and continues through July 5 at Vote.TimWilkerson.com.
The voting phase will be promoted through a specially-designed Funny Car paint scheme revealed and raced exclusively by Tim Wilkerson on the dragstrip at the Route 66 Raceway NHRA Nationals in Chicago from June 27 through June 30, 2013. NHRA fans at the races will be encouraged to visit the website and vote for their favorite Wilkerson website concept.
The website receiving the largest percentage of the popular vote will be announced and included in the Wilkerson website redesign. Once launched, the new Wilkerson site will offer NHRA fans a one-of-a-kind experience online. New features nitro-powered by the DotNetNuke® content management system will include a fan-of-the-month profile, behind-the-scenes photos and videos, and a blog with frequent updates straight from the races. Visit Vote.TimWilkerson.com to vote through July 5th and watch for the site transformation to provide the latest and greatest NHRA drag racing news in the near future.
