Nova Southeastern University's Fischler School of Education to Host Fourth Annual International School Choice Research Conference

FT. LAUDERDALE-DAVIE, Fla., Jan. 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Nova Southeastern University's (NSU) Abraham S. Fischler School of Education will host its fourth annual International Conference on School Choice and Reform (ICSCR.) The event is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 16 through Monday, Jan. 19 at the Sonesta Hotel, 999 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  The goal of the conference is to bring together American and internationally renowned greatest thinkers in higher education / k-12 to explore future collaborative research and current education trends. 

ICSCR provides a framework for assessing evidence on the effects of different forms of educational choice, including magnet and charter public schools, controlled choice and inter-district transfer programs, vouchers, tuition tax credits, homeschooling, on-line education and the direct public funding of private schools provided in many countries. 

Specifically designed for approximately 120 participants to encourage discussion, ICSCR brings together researchers and policy specialists from many different countries to stimulate new thinking and foster international collaboration.  By drawing representatives of governments into that discussion, ICSCR also encourages the development and implementation of effective and equitable policies. The conference will be led by co-chairs Charles Glenn Ph.D. of Boston University and Priscilla Wohlstetter, PhD of Columbia University.  Each year there are more than 100 academics, policy experts and policy practitioners who gather to share research, opinions and evidence regarding school choice and education reform from around the globe. This year we have presenters from 21 different countries.
