2017 Ford Super Duty F-250 King Ranch Crowned "Best Premium 3/4-Ton Pickup Truck of 2017"

CHICAGO, May 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Experts from Cars.com and PickupTrucks.com put the current lineup of premium heavy-duty pickup trucks to the test to determine the best in the 2017 3/4-Ton Premium Truck Challenge. The 2017 Ford Super Duty F-250 King Ranch walked away with the crown and "Best Premium 3/4-Ton Pickup Truck of 2017" title.

"Like a great all-around athlete, the new Ford F-250 has the powertrain of a bulldozer, and the interior features and technology of a luxury hotel room," said Mark Williams, pickup truck expert at Cars.com. "If we had to tow our monster trailer around the country, we'd want to call this Super Duty home."

Trucks tested in the Challenge included the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 LTZ Midnight Edition, 2017 Ford Super Duty F-250 King Ranch, 2017 Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve and the 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Longhorn. Typical pickup truck testing was conducted on all the trucks including payload, towing, braking, acceleration and much more.

To compete, each truck had to be a 4x4 crew cab with a diesel engine and cost between $63,000 and $77,000. Evaluation resulted in the following ranking.
