SeriousFun Children's Network Names Sandra O. Hijikata As New Chief Development Officer

NORWALK, Conn., Jan. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- SeriousFun Children's Network (SeriousFun) has named Sandra O. Hijikata as its new Chief Development Officer (CDO). Most recently, Hijikata served as Chief Development Officer, Senior Vice President, at JDRF International. At SeriousFun, she will lead the Network's development and fundraising initiatives, with a focus on advancing strategic priorities that increase support, grow revenue, and promote Network sustainability. SeriousFun Children's Network, founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, is a community of 30 camps and programs around the world that offer life-changing camp experiences to children with serious illnesses and their families, always free of charge. Hijikata assumed her responsibilities with the network on January 18.

During her tenure at JDRF International, Hijikata was responsible for the Foundation's development and field implementation functions, covering all revenue streams with a revenue responsibility of $225M. Prior to JDRF International, Hijikata served as Chief Revenue Officer at March of Dimes Foundation, where she spearheaded the Foundation's revenue generation activities including the annual March for Babies Mother's March.

Hijikata received her MS from New England College with a concentration in Non-Profit Management and received her BA in Music and Education from Hamline University.
