Spangler Candy Company Announces New Social Media Photo Contest: 'A Day in the Life of Dum Dums'

BRYAN, Ohio, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- What role have Dum Dum Pops® played in your life?

Spangler Candy Company, manufacturer of 10 million Dum Dum Pops a day, is searching for the biggest Dum Dums fans. Contestants will have the chance to send in their most memorable, humorous and/or creative photos showing how Dum Dums have been a part of their life.

From October 1, 2010 through November 9, 2010, contestants can submit their photos at www.lifeofdumdums.com. There will be one Grand Prize Winner along with numerous Runners-Up, as well as an "instant-win" opportunity for a Dum Dum Prize Package throughout the course of the contest.

The public will vote for their favorite photos November 10, 2010 through November 23, 2010, at www.lifeofdumdums.com. Voters will have the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to win Fandango movie gift cards. The Grand Prize Winner will be revealed November 24, 2010. $2,500 will be awarded to one Grand Prize Winner while Runners-Up will receive digital cameras.

Over the past year, Spangler Candy Company entered the world of social media with the launch of the iPhone's Dum Dum Pops "Flick-A-Pop" App, four Facebook pages as well as YouTube and Flickr pages.

The Dum Dum Pops Facebook page has grown to over 7,500 fans. The "Flick-A-Pop" app has appeared on iTunes' Top 10 App Charts and reached over 1 million downloads.
