Resort to debut new curated mountain experience, hospitality upgrades, $3 Million in operational improvements, and expanded dates for on-mountain offerings
TAOS SKI VALLEY, N.M., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- New Mexico's Taos Ski Valley (Taos) today announced its winter 2026-27 opening date, November 26, 2026. The resort, a place where legendary terrain meets extraordinary hospitality, will up the ante even further this season with a new, tailored luxury mountain experience, new and elevated dining options, and more than $3 Million in operational improvements and a wider array of on-mountain offerings than ever to enhance every aspect of the guest experience.
"Taos has always been defined by two things – an extraordinary mountain and a deeply personal approach to hospitality," says John Kelly, CEO of Taos Ski Valley. "This winter, we're bringing those two traditions together in new ways, creating a mountain experience that is adventurous, effortless, and unmistakably Taos."
Hospitality at Every Turn
Taos' legendary hospitality is as renowned as its big mountain terrain, with easy air access, sophisticated accommodations at its centerpiece hotel, The Blake – ranked the "Number One Ski Hotel in America" for two years in a row by Powder Magazine – alongside an intimate village and elevated base offerings.
Flight Access
Taos Regional Airport will once again offer nonstop flights from Austin and Dallas four days per week, and Carlsbad three days per week via semi-private carrier JSX; and Contour Airlines will connect twice weekly to Taos from Denver International Airport's nearly 200 accessible cities. Complimentary airport transfers are available for guests staying at The Blake arriving on JSX or Contour flights.
Arriving in Taos Ski Valley
Just steps from the slopes, The Blake boasts exceptional, European-style hospitality alongside upscale amenities including a full-service therapeutic spa and wellness center, thoughtful accommodations, and several on-site and nearby dining options. This season, Taos' signature restaurants – The Bavarian, 192, and Whistlestop Café – will feature enhanced menus and service offerings.
Dedicated hausmeisters are always available to anticipate and accommodate guests' every need, so they can truly enjoy a full resort experience, combining both on-mountain adventures and restoration in an exceptional alpine setting. And the famed hospitality also extends to elevated ski amenities such as ski-in/ski-out access at The Blake, complimentary ski valet, demo rentals on-site with a boot heater upgrade make every moment on and off the mountain seamless.
New for 2026, the resort will feature Taos by Belvedere, the first fully hosted mountain experience of its kind at Taos Ski Valley. Bringing together peak access, expert guidance, and personalized hospitality in one of North America's most distinctive ski destinations, Taos by Belvedere is designed for groups of four to 16 and skiers of all levels. Each stay is highly curated to the group and brings together slopeside penthouse accommodations, privately guided mountain experiences, dining designed for the day, restorative wellness, and insider access to the culture, landscape, and conservation efforts that define Taos. From first planning through the final run, a private concierge and expert guides shape every detail around the group. The Soul of Skiing
Taos is often cited for some of its more challenging terrain, but it boasts experiences for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort's intentionally cultivated intimacy offers skiers uncrowded slopes and endless opportunities to explore, while its renowned ski school has something for all ages and abilities, from kids and beginners to advanced skiers.
Below are some of the Snowsports offerings for winter 2026-27:
- Ski Weeks: Taos offers the only weekly, week-long ski program in North America. The ski weeks – which were inspired by similar offerings in Europe and have been a coveted program at Taos since the 1960s – are six-day programs guided by the resort's expert instructors. Each ski week includes six half-days of instruction, with participants grouped together by ability level to maximize the benefits and improvements guest gain from the program.
In addition to weekly and private ski weeks, in 2027, Taos will offer:
-
- NEW: Early Season Ski Weeks (Dec. 13-19, 2026; January 3-9, 2027) – Enjoy ski weeks earlier in the season for a 50 percent discount ($220 per person for a week of instruction).
- Women's Ski Weeks (Jan. 3-9 and Feb. 21-27, 2027) - This program is coached by women for women, fostering camaraderie and confidence on the mountain.
- NEW Full Moon Uphill Tours: Beginning in December, the new monthly Full Moon Uphill Tours are guided by an expert member of the ski patrol and feature a relaxed, social paced tour with sweeping mountain views, evening light, and a memorable finish at the legendary martini tree. Space is limited to ten guests, and appropriate uphill gear is required.
- Discounted Early Season Lift Tickets: Early Season lift tickets will start at $75 for adults (until Dec. 10); and, throughout the regular season, guests can save up to 33% on lift tickets when you buy at least 72 hours in advance.
- Complimentary Private Guides: Guests who book a three or four-bedroom penthouse or suite can enjoy a two-hour private guide on their first day, helping them discover the best runs for any ability level and make the most of their visit.
- Returning for 2027 Mini-Shredders & Shredders Xtreme Programs: Shredders is a five-week program (once per week) focused on the growth of local skiers and riders. Due to popular demand, two Shredders programs will return this season - Mini Shredders introduces children ages three to five to the fun and excitement of skiing or snowboarding; and Shredders Xtreme is a high-energy program for kids ages 11-13 who are ready to test their skills on the mountain's most demanding terrain.
- New 5-Day Childcare Package: Taos offers ski lessons for kids as young as three, but for families whose kids do not want to ski every day or are not ready to start, the resort will offer five days of child care to use all at once or throughout the season for $775 (a $200 discount from the standard daily rate).
On-Mountain Upgrades
To prepare for the upcoming season, Taos has invested $3 Million in the behind-the-scenes efforts that shape each day on the mountain. They spent the summer completing additional trail work and glading, and they have added more tower and fan guns for early season snowmaking. The resorts has also added a new snow depth satellite mapping system to ensure the most efficient grooming practices and get guests to the best snow as soon as possible.
