The Hanover Donates 160 Trees To The City Of Worcester In Celebration Of Its 160th Anniversary

WORCESTER, Mass., April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Hanover Insurance Group is pleased to announce that it will donate 160 trees to the City of Worcester in honor of the company's 160th anniversary. The donation is being made on behalf of the company's employees and their longstanding commitment to making a difference in the community.

The trees will be planted throughout Worcester, and in particular, in neighborhoods that were impacted by the recent infestation of Asian Longhorned Beetles, which resulted in the removal of more than 28,000 trees.

In addition to donating 160 trees to the City of Worcester to help celebrate its 160th anniversary, the company also will make numerous grants to educational programs, youth initiatives, community non-profits, and environmental causes. In 2012, the company and its employees also expect to contribute more than $1 million to United Way chapters across the country.
