NEW YORK, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --The Taiwan Fund, Inc. (the "Fund") announces the selection by the Fund's Board of Directors of Martin Currie, Inc. as the Fund's new investment manager. The appointment of Martin Currie, Inc. as investment manager is subject to, and would commence following, approval of an investment advisory contract with Martin Currie, Inc. by the Fund's stockholders at the 2010 Annual Meeting to be held on April 26, 2010. If the proposed investment advisory contract between the Fund and Martin Currie, Inc. is approved, the Fund will pay advisory fees to Martin Currie, Inc. at the annual rate of 0.90% on the first $150 million in total net assets under management, 0.80% on the next $150 million in total net assets under management and 0.70% on total net assets under management over $300 million. The advisory fees will not be subject to a performance adjustment.
