The Taiwan Fund, Inc. Announces Results of Annual Meeting of Stockholders held on May 14, 2014

NEW YORK, May 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Taiwan Fund, Inc. (the "Fund") held its Annual Meeting of Stockholders (the "Meeting") today.  At the Meeting, stockholders approved the election of Directors; however, stockholders failed to approve by the required vote the proposed Investment Management Agreement between the Fund and Allianz Global Investors US LLC ("Allianz").  As a result, the Fund's Board is considering other potential candidates for management of the Fund, with a view to seeking stockholder approval of another investment manager before the Interim Investment Management Agreement between the Fund and Allianz terminates on July 21, 2014.

The Fund is a diversified closed-end investment company, which seeks long term capital appreciation primarily through investments in equity securities listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.  Shares of the Fund are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "TWN."
