COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The White Castle Turkey Stuffing recipe is an old Craver favorite, having originated in 1991 when a White Castle team member enhanced her grandmother's family stuffing recipe with a sack of Sliders. The recipe was born and with it the challenge for Cravers across the land to create their own unique Slider culinary creation.
This tasty holiday recipe calls for a sack of 10 steam-grilled-on-a-bed-of-onions Original Sliders to create a Thanksgiving masterpiece fit for a family of true Cravers.
"This recipe is a tasty take on traditional turkey stuffing, which adds the high-quality ingredients of 100 percent all-beef Sliders and savory grilled onions for gourmet perfection," said White Castle Corporate Chef Phillip Bach, who can personally guide you through the preparation process of White Castle Turkey Stuffing in this edition of What's Cooking Cravers?
The original White Castle Turkey Stuffing ingredients:
- 10 White Castle Sliders (from the restaurant with the pickles removed or picked up from your local retailer)
- 1 1/2 cups diced celery
- 1 1/4 teaspoons each of ground thyme and ground sage
- 1 1/2 teaspoons coarse ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
Simply tear burgers into small pieces; put them into a large mixing bowl with the celery, thyme, sage and black pepper; and toss to combine. Add chicken broth and toss again. Stuff the mixture into the turkey cavity just before roasting or in your favorite casserole dish.
The true beauty of the White Castle Turkey Stuffing recipe is the 10 Sliders can be from your local White Castle restaurant, which will be open on Thanksgiving Day, or picked up at your local retailer and prepared at home. Either version of the Slider works and will provide the "secret ingredient" to a soon-to-be family favorite recipe.
"As a family-owned business, we're glad to see Craver families across the country making the White Castle Turkey Stuffing a staple of their Thanksgiving dinner for nearly a quarter of a century," said Jamie Richardson vice president of White Castle.
For years, legions of White Castle's most passionate fans around the world have tinkered with family recipes enhancing the flavor and creation with the addition of White Castle Sliders.
