Tom recently retired from Dell's Software group where he was Vice President and General Manager of the Systems Management business. Dell Systems Management focuses on integration, innovation and ease of use, and delivers products and solutions in the areas of Data Protection, Endpoint Systems Management, Performance Monitoring, Windows Server Management, and BYOD.

Prior to Dell, Tom served as Executive Vice President of Enterprise Products at CA Technologies (formerly CA, Inc.) where he also held the positions of Executive Vice President of Enterprise Products & Solutions Business Line, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development, and General Manager of Project & Portfolio Management.

Before that, Tom served as Group President of Security and Data Management Group of Symantec Corporation, where he also held several other sales and services leadership positions. Tom joined Symantec after a 26-year career at International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), where he served as Vice President of Worldwide Server Sales, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Vice President of Software for the Western United States, among other leadership positions.

Tom served as a Director of Pareto Networks, Inc., as a Member of Advisory Board of Avangate B.V and as a Director of RightNow Technologies Inc. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington.
