SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- TrueCar.com, the authority in new car pricing, trends and forecasting released its Performance Scorecards for automotive manufacturers and brands. The full report is available in TrueCar.com's monthly TrueTrends Report. The Performance Scorecards grade each manufacturer and brand on eight different measurements including pricing, sales, incentives, customer loyalty, market share and days in inventory data.
Overall, the top manufacturers on the Scorecards in May were Hyundai, Porsche and BMW. Near the bottom of the list were Saab and Honda. The brands that received the highest grades are Scion, Porsche and Hyundai and the brands with the lowest grades were Honda, Saab and Chrysler and Ram.
"Hyundai's robust sales and market share growth while lowering incentives spending and inventory turn rates enabled the manufacturer to receive a perfect score this month," said Jesse Toprak, VP of Industry Trends and Insights at TrueCar.com. "Not surprisingly, except for Saab, the bottom six manufacturers were all Japanese and ranked low primarily because of major drops in their market share."
The biggest gainers among manufacturers, from April 2011 to May 2011 were:
Daimler moving from a C- to a B
GM moving from a B+ to a A
The biggest decliners among manufacturers, from April 2011 to May 2011 were:
Honda moving from a C+ to a D+
Chrysler moving from a B to a C+
Volkswagen moving from a A- to a B
