Univfy PredictIVF Test Proven to Predict Future IVF Success Accurately Based on Past IVF Data

LOS ALTOS, Calif., April 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Univfy Inc., a pioneer in predictive technology for health care and fertility, today announced the results of a new validation study that proves its Univfy PredictIVF online prediction test is 75 percent more powerful than age-based estimates at accurately predicting the probability of live birth in a patient's next in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycle based on data from her previous IVF cycles.

Univfy's VP of Statistics and Technology Bokyung Choi, Ph.D., will present the new findings at the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society's (PCRS) 61^st Annual Meeting, which precedes the 15^th annual National Infertility Awareness Week® April 21-27.

The study, "Turning Past IVF Data into Personalized Prognostics through a Validated Multi-Center IVF Prediction Model," found that over 70 percent of cases analyzed using Univfy PredictIVF tests had a significantly different probability of success compared to age-based estimates. In one third of the cases, Univfy PredictIVF accurately predicted a probability of live birth greater than 40 percent, compared to age-based control, which could not differentiate these patients from others in the population.

The study is the first to validate that data from a previous IVF cycle can be used to more accurately predict future IVF cycle success. Univfy and its research collaborators used anonymized data from each patient's previous IVF cycles and compared it to more than 20,000 qualifying repeat IVF cycles performed across three IVF clinics in the U.S., Canada and Spain. This predictive model is the basis for the Univfy PredictIVF online test that enables consumers to enter their own baseline data to receive a personalized prediction of IVF success instantly.

Armed with this vital information, couples can make better informed decisions about whether to pursue another IVF treatment with the patients' own eggs to build their family.
