Vanda Pharmaceuticals Announces the Appointment of General Counsel

WASHINGTON, Sept.14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Vanda) (NASDAQ: VNDA) today announced that it has named Richard Gulino as Vanda's Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. Gulino has over 20 years of strategic and legal experience representing life sciences and healthcare companies.

Prior to joining Vanda, Mr. Gulino served as Vice President and General Counsel of Ameritox, Ltd., a clinical drug testing laboratory. Prior to this position, Mr. Gulino was Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Cephalon, Inc., a global biopharmaceutical company specializing in discovering, developing and marketing novel central nervous system, pain and oncology medications, where he led the corporate/commercial legal function.

Before joining Cephalon, Mr. Gulino served as a senior commercial attorney at Zeneca, Inc. Mr. Gulino began his legal career in private practice with Dow, Lohnes & Albertson in Washington, DC. Mr. Gulino received his Bachelor of Arts in history from Colgate University and his Juris Doctor with high honors from Duke University School of Law.
