White Castle Celebrates National Hamburger Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- To honor Cravers everywhere, White Castle is rolling out the "blue" carpet to kick off National Hamburger Month with a month-long Slider-bration™. These events are celebrating a cultural classic, the Original Slider®, America's first fast-food hamburger.

Starting last night and throughout May, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a different White Castle restaurant will host a two-hour Slider-bration™. The first Slider-bration™ took place at 12:01 a.m. this morning in Columbus, where V.I.Cs (Very Important Cravers), including former Columbus Crew player and Olympic star Frankie Hejduk, walked the "blue" carpet to be the first to get 25-cent steam-grilled-on-a-bed-of-onions Sliders.

A larger kickoff event will be held from noon until 2 p.m. today, when White Castle will simultaneously host a Slider-bration™ at restaurants in Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, Minneapolis, Nashville, New York, New Jersey and St. Louis. Participating restuarants are listed below. Cravers can track when and where the next Slider-bration will take place by logging onto Sliderbration.com and registering for email alerts or following the countdown clock on the website. Nearly 20,000 Cravers have already registered for email alerts about Slider-brations™ in their community since the site went live on April 23, 2013. Many more are expected to join throughout National Hamburger Month.
